Born on October 26th, 1981 in Freeport, Grand Bahama to Wenzel McBride and Evangeline McBride-Outten, Chevonia has been described by many as a woman of integrity, passion, family, love and vision. She received her early childhood education at Mary Star of the Sea Primary School and Discovery Primary School and her secondary education at G.B. Catholic High School. She began her tertiary education at Terreve College where she received an Associate’s Degree with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Criminal Justice. Because of her love for helping people she went on to complete her Bachelors in Law at the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom. After successfully completing of her bachelor’s degree, Chevonia decided to take a break from education and work in her family’s business as the Vice President of A Social Affair Bahamas, the premiere destination management company on Grand Bahama Island which delayed her from attending bar school, but developed her leadership, business and event management skills. As the logistics and production of event management became a passion for Chevonia, she later obtained her certification in Project Management at the Project Management Institute.

Chevonia has served for the past several years as a Project Officer at the Office of the Prime Minister, Grand Bahama and is President and Founder of Sisters of Strength Bahamas, a non-profit organization geared toward the development of girls and young women on Grand Bahama Island. Chevonia is also a certified Event Planner/Manager and enjoys making her clients dreams a reality as a “Polished Professional”.

Inspired by her passion for youth development in the Bahamas, in June 2015, Chevonia obtained a certification as a Youth Leader by the Ministry of Youth Sports & Culture and 2016 become a Certified Etiquette Consultant. Chevonia continues to motivate young women as a motivational speaker, a Certified Life Coach with special emphasis on the development of our youth, a Certification in International Women in Leadership by John Maxwell and has recently been sworn in as a Justice of The Peace for Grand Bahama Island.

In Chevonia’s spare time, she can be found serving in her church, as the Administrator and President of the Women’s Ministry at New Destiny Kingdom Center under the leadership of Pastor Glen and Minister Mikara Russell. As she continues to walk in faith and seek the kingdom of God earnestly she wishes the very essence of the Kingdom to increase. To be an ambassador of the kingdom; to work to reconcile all things to God, to live for the glory of God in all things, to renew culture and transform society and to ensure no child is left behind.

Having overcome many obstacles, personal struggles and setbacks Ms. McBride is living proof that she can do all things through Christ who strengthens her and encourages everyone to seek God first and let Him direct your path.
