The calling of an educator is one of a great responsibility, and though many has answered the call; few have done so with such passion and selflessness as Ms. Rosheeda Rolle. Even as a child, Rosheeda knew that one day she will work with children.
Born in Nassau on October 11th 1987, to Roosevelt and Carla Rolle, Rosheeda is the eldest of five children. Her family relocated to Freeport in the year 2000 and Rosheeda started her high school career at the Sir Jack Hayward High school. It is here that her passion started to take on new developmental strides and her love for God and community began to flourish. She was a member of the Christian Student Movement, as well as the Anchor Club. In her time in the Anchor Club, she was exposed to community service, but her passion came alive as the club adopted a Brain Minders program and went throughout Grand Bahama introducing it to all of the preschools and first grades. It was during this time that Rosheeda’s love for early childhood education took root.
In the year 2004, Rosheeda graduated from Jack Hayward High School as a Senior Prefect at the tender age of 16 and continued to pursue her passion by immediately enrolling into the University of The Bahamas, formerly the College of The Bahamas as well as she worked full time as a teachers aid at the Freeport Bible Academy, formerly Freeport Bible Preschool. Despite having a full time job and being a full time student, Rosheeda went on to become a Student Teacher at Sunland Baptist Academy. Rosheeda successfully completed her Bachelors of Education,Primary Certification with a focus on Early Childhood, in 2010. There was no stopping her. With her credentials in hand, Rosheeda was then hired by The Ministry of Education has a Preschool teacher/Coordinator at the Martin Town Primary School, located in the largest settlement on Grand Bahama, and in the Bahamas; Eight Mile Rock. She also was the Acting Principal/ Teacher at McCleans Town Preschool in McCleans Town East Grand Bahama.
Today she is presently the Acting Principal/ Teacher of East End Preschool in Freetown, East Grand Bahama.
To add to her nine years of teaching, Rosheeda is also the Children’s Church Leader at her local church, Jubilee Cathedral and the founder of a non-profit organization, Bountiful Blessings, that caters to mothers and small children; while also being a mentor of a girls mentorship program known as Vessels of Purpose Elite, located in East End Grand Bahama. Most recently God has placed Rosheeda on the journey of speaking and imparting knowledge to others throughout the island of Grand Bahama hence allowing her to be an imminent inspirational speaker. Alongside her passion for children, Rosheeda carries with her a burning commitment to her community as well as her love for The Lord. Her favourite scripture is Philippians 4:8 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”.
Although her tenor in education has not been very long, her impact is already making waves throughout the length and breadth of the island of Grand Bahama. She has a strong support system in her family (including her adorable niece she loves dearly), close friends, as well as her church family. It is no doubt that the future leaders of this country will be a by-product of Ms. Rosheeda Rolle, whether directly or indirectly; because she has come to impact more than just those she encounters. She lives by her personal motto, “Trusting the process, while fulfilling my purpose. ”
