This is the philosophy that Deborah Pratt lives by.
A Corporate Trainer, Motivational Speaker, Writer, Mentor and Entrepreneur, she is passionate about encouraging others to discover God’s purpose for their lives, pursue their dreams and realize their full potential in life. This is the core of her messages as a speaker and as a columnist with the Freeport News, writing a weekly column, “Your Weekly Motivation”, for the past eight years. Deborah said whenever she receives positive feedback from someone about how a speech she may have given or an article she may have written for her column, inspired them, it reminds her that she is living God’s purpose for her life.
Having a special place in her heart for young people, especially girls, Deborah has been a mentor to many over the years as a Leading Lady with the Princess Court Ministries, for the past eleven years. She has also worked along with her daughter, Danielle Pratt, Miss Grand Bahama, 2015-2016, for the past four years, with her “Embracing Your Inner Queen” Program, encouraging girls to embrace their inner beauty and build their self-confidence. Mrs. Pratt is the author of the book, “Motivational Poems For Teens”, founder and former host of “Teen Talk” which was aired on ZNS 3, 810AM from September 2003 to June, 2005 and she wrote a “Youth Issues” column for the Freeport News from March, 2006 to January, 2010.
In her professional life, this former banker of sixteen years is a Certified Corporate Trainer, the President of DAPS(Developing Attitudes for Potential Success) Corporate Training and Business Services founded in 2006. Services offered by DAPS include Corporate Training, Motivational Speaking, Public Relations and Writing Services including Business Letters, Resumes, Speeches, Press Releases etc. A stickler for excellent customer service, she specializes in training on this subject. Other disciplines in which she trains include: Effective Communication Skills, Leadership Skills, Job Readiness Skills, Teambuilding and Etiquette. She has been an Associate Trainer with the Ministry of Tourism for the past thirteen years and she also does training for other Government Departments including the Ministry of Youth, Public Service Department and the National Training Agency.
A Distinguished Toastmaster, Mrs. Pratt has been a member of Freeport Eagles, Toastmasters Club 1425 for the past 15 years. Her other activities include being an ambassador with the Ministry of Tourism’s People-To-People Program and Facilitator of Freeport Gospel Chapel School’s Speech and Debate Club. She is an active member of New Horizon Worship Centre where she serves in the Public Relations Ministry.
Married to Mr. Dwayne Pratt, Deborah says that her greatest joy comes from being a wife to one husband for the past twenty seven years and a mother to their three gifts from God, Danielle, Destiny and Dana.
